The Colorado Association of Healthcare Executives (CAHE) held its June education and networking event on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the newly opened Memorial Hospital North (North Pine Creek Conference Room) in Colorado Springs.  Our guest speaker was Mr. Ben Dillon, Corporate Evangelist, Geonetric, Cedar Rapids, Iowa who presented "The Business Case for eHealth: The Value of Keeping Pace with Online Healthcare Trends."  Ben Dillon discussed how hospitals and health systems are increasingly viewing the Web as a competitive differentiator and as a strategic priority.  With budgets still tight in many organizations, a more comprehensive overview of the business case behind these investments is essential to gaining momentum.  This presentation looked at the drivers for the eHealth Business Case including an overview of the eHealth landscape, patient demand and strong ROI.  The presentation also highlighted and compared trends from Geonetric's Annual Survey on Initiatives in eHealth along with other research to provide a holistic view of where healthcare and online technologies are advancing and identify the areas where peer organizations nationally are focusing their energies and investments.
