Thursday, April 12, 2007 The Colorado Association of Healthcare Executives (CAHE) held its education and networking event on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Medical Center of the Rockies, Longspeak Room, 2500 Rocky Mountain Avenue, Loveland, CO. The guest speaker was Dr. Brian S. Greffe, MD, Oncology/ Hematology & Medical Director of the Butterfly Program, The Children's Hospital, Denver who presented "The Butterfly Program: Past, Present & Future." Dr. Greffe discussed the development, financing and management, as well as the details of the Butterfly Program. The program is a collaborative effort between Centura at Home/Porter Foundation and The Children’s Hospital to provide palliative care to any person from infancy to adulthood who is facing a potentially life-limiting illness. The program can be initiated at any time regardless of a family’s ability to pay or a patient’s current treatment goals. The Butterfly Program at Children's Denver has been recognized nationally and is only the second such program in the U.S. For ACHE-affiliated attendees, the event was worth 1.5 pre-approved Category II continuing education hours.
Included in this program was a tour of the beautiful and newly opened Medical Center of the Rockies. A special thank you to George Hayes, Doug Faus and Robyn Smith Brown from the Medical Center of the Rockies for hosting the event and for the great food! |
